Beauty in the Pain

The last few days have been pretty hard for my wife. She has been suffering from a migraine as well as other body pains and has been limited in what she can do. Amidst this however I come into our room to check on her and see that she is making wonderful drawings on her iPad. I see the drawing and how the textures and contours have come to life and realize that this amazing piece of work has been done amidst her pain. Most of the time when I see her art I am only aware of how it makes me feel and I never take time to consider how she felt while making it. So as I admire the recent work she has done I take a moment to realize that this was done through pain as a way of providing her with some relief.
