In this painting I see the rolling fields of my home state, Iowa, “the bread basket of the world.” I love using texture in my art to bring an experience you can only feel in person. My favorite medium to use to create this texture is eggs as they symbolize new birth. These vibrant and whimsical roses make this painting come to life. This painting was a passion piece for me as I was beginning a new chapter in my life after battling Lyme disease that seemed to take years away from me. I could see the light, a new horizon, full of hope…a “New Birth.”
This was my 2018 Art Price entry in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was be displayed at Boardwalk GR Condominiums September 19 - October 7.
