Art Prize Experience

Over the weekend Art Prize came to a close. Our entire family was able to enjoy the last few days of Art Prize together. It is truly amazing how many venues in Grand Rapids participate in the overall contest. There was so much variety in the art that was displayed and every venue had something different to offer. I was really surprised to see how many outdoor art pieces were there as well.

Art Prize offers a really neat opportunity for artists in that they connect them with people in the Grand Rapids community who would like to have the artists stay at their home for free. During Art Prize Jessica stayed with an amazing couple who took her and another artist into their home. They provided rides and opened up their home to my wife in ways that were truly amazing. It was wonderful to meet them at the beginning of the contest and it was nice to see how well they took care of my wife. I was amazed by their generosity.
